Quality Commitment at SMA Manufacturing

Quality Commitment at SMA Manufacturing

SMA Manufacturing is dedicated to providing high-quality, cost-effective products tailored to your needs. We embrace a "Continuous Improvement" philosophy, employing industry-leading methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Total Quality Management, and ISO 9000.

Manufacturer Selection and Quality Assurance

SMA Manufacturing carefully selects our member manufacturers based on their ability to provide quality products, competitive pricing, and timely delivery. We conduct thorough evaluations, including self-audits and surveys, to assess each candidate's quality potential and rating. SMA rates member manufacturers quarterly based on defect rates and on-time deliveries. We communicate these ratings, encouraging continuous improvement and innovation.

Receiving Inspection and Zero Defects Policy

We strive for a zero-defect environment, working closely with our member manufacturers to produce the highest quality products. SMA and/or its customers perform routine receiving inspections, ensuring products meet the required specifications. All necessary rework and deviations must be approved by SMA prior to product shipment. your business here.

Corrective Action and Certification

SMA requests formal corrective actions for any product defects, requiring manufacturers to evaluate and address the issue within 10 working days. Once corrected, products are returned to SMA for evaluation and approval.

Members may be certified if they pass an on-site quality survey and maintain products within the allowed defect limits for six months. We allow a defect rate of up to 1% if there is a plan to reduce defects to zero, but this does not apply to off-the-shelf items (Class II).
